11/07/201301/28/2014My Student in Need - Kindergarten male student has vision disabilities. We would greatly appreciate having a new or used/working I-Pad and a small prepaid account of about $100 to download applications that would help him learn in the classroom. The I-Pad would be available for him to use only at Montana School for Deaf & Blind and at Mountain View Elementary. His teachers will secure the I-Pad in the classroom and transfer it to and from MVE to MSDB and back. The I-Pad will not go home with the student and it will be the property of MVE - BUT it will be used by the Student throughout his education at the two schools. The I-Pad allows the teachers to download pictures of documents and upload them using the applications in a modified format so that it is easier for him to see them. We could also upload assignments at both schools so that he can work on at either school. The I-Pad is essential for his continuing usage in both schools as he progresses through school. The I-Pad is an assistive device that won't make him stand out from his typically developing peers like the other assistive devices would due to their size and limited usage for disabled students only. 01/22/201401/27/2014My Student in Ned - I have a 10th grade. male student is in need of a pair of new running shoes for everyday wear and PE. He has been given a pair 2 sizes too big and wears them without complaining and he wouldn't care about color, style, etc just a shoe that would fit properly would be awesome. He is a 9.5 in mens or a 10 with room to grow a little. SINCE GETTING THE PROPEER FIT IS CRUCIAL TO HELP FULFILL THIS NEED WE ARE ASKING THAT THE DONOR PLEDGE $40 SO WE CAN GO TO SCHEELS AND BUY A SCHEELS SHOE GIDT CARD AND GIVE THE CARD TO THE TEACHER TO TAKE HIM TO SCHEELS TO GET THE PROPER FITTED SHOES. 01/09/201401/22/2014My Students in Need - UPDATE SEE BELOW - NORMALLY THIS MIGHT BE CONSIDERED A "WANT" HOWEVER WE HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE TEACHER AND SHE HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE SCHOOL DOES NOT PROVIDE THE NEEDED EQUIPMENT. I have six High School Students who are in need of new or gently used and working digital cameras for photography class. The students are required to have a camera for this class and without one will not receive a passing grade. Any camera donated will be the property of the school however the students will be able to use them and possess them however the cameras will be turned back into the Photography Class at the end of the school year. The type of camera needed is any 5 MP or higher digital camera with shutter speed, and F-stop settings. These are labeled as AV, TV, P, M on the camera. Vivitar makes one that sells for $29.95. IF YOU HAVE A CAMERA THAT MEETS THE REQUIRED FUNCTIONS AND CAN DONATE IT - WONDERFUL! OR IF YOU WISH TO HELP YOU CAN PLEDGE ANY AMOUNT TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF THE SIX CAMERAS.
