02/27/201503/13/2015My Student in Need - 1st grade boy, age 7, is in transition and is in need of boys' clothing including shirts and sweatshirts in size 8 (or 8-10), pants size 7 (with adjustable waists - or size 7-8), and tennis shoes size 3. 02/20/201503/10/2015My Student in Need Franklin students grades K-5 are asked to purchase and keep a pair of earphones at school for when they work in the computer lab. Many families can not afford this extra school supply. We are looking for donations of 40 pairs of headphones or ear buds to help out students who can not afford to purchase these. You can help by donating headphones or ear buds or a Walmart gift card to be used to purchase these items. Any help is appreciated. 02/20/201503/10/2015My Student in Need - Franklin's Family Resource Center has a clothing closet that is avaiable to parents free of charge. The FRC is out of young girl pants size 5-6. It is also out of underwear for young boys and girls. Sizes 5-6. Any help in these areas are appreciated. For sanitary reasons, the underwear needs to be new in the package. 1)You can donate gently used clothing or new in the package underwear or 2)you can donate gift cards to Walmart or Target to purchase these items. 01/14/201502/09/2015My Student in Need - The district Learning Lab is a classroom for students in transition. Learning Lab students may be transitioning from a regular classroom to a treatment facility; from a detention facility back to their school of origin; or, awaiting foster care or group home placement. Most of the Learning Lab students come to class with little more than the shirt on their backs. Because physical activity is a critical part of the curriculum, students need warm outdoor gear. We are asking for donations of winter gear (hats, gloves, coats and boots) for both male and female students in sizes ranging from Youth Medium to Adult XXL (students might be as young as 12 and as old as 18). Gently used items can be delivered to the MCPS Administration Building at 215 South 6th Street West. THANK YOU! 12/12/201401/30/2015My Student in Need - A first grade student with complex disabilities is in need of an attachment for his wheelchair to hold his iPad which he uses for communication and his school work. This attachment will allow him to use the iPad independently without needing assistance from anyone to hold it or position it just right so that he can access it. This attachment will cost approximately $225.00. Medicaid will not pay for this item and he has exhausted other sources of funding that we currently know of due to his complex and multiple needs. 01/27/201501/29/2015My Student in Need - My Neigbhor in Need - We now have multiple students that are in need of snow pants to participate in our upcoming school ski trips (2/3 for 6th graders and 2/10 for 7th & 8th graders). Please help support with either new, or clean and gently used snow pants in multiple size ranging from; Girls' Large and XLarge to Women's Small and Medium, and Boys' L and XL to Men's S and M. We could greatly use your support to make sure that our mustangs stay dry and warm on these outdoor exploratory days. If unable to go shopping, we would gladly accept a gift card to purchase snow pants for these students.
