03/26/201504/10/2015My Student in Need - 81 of our students will be participating in the STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) Expo on April 11 and it goes from 9:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The students have been working for 5 weeks on research, conducting their own experiments based on a hypothesis, and writing an extensive MLA research paper. The school would like to supply juice, water, granola bars, fruit, and other misc. snacks for this 4 hour time commitment of our students. Last year we fortunate enough to obtain through My Student in Need a $200 Walmart gift card which worked perfectly for this. 04/01/201504/10/2015I have a student, who due to cerebral palsy, has difficulty getting around. A month or so ago she was excited that she was going to get a new backpack. She currently uses a large single strap pouch which is awkward for her. Later, when I asked her about the new backpack she said something to the effect that her mom didn’t (or perhaps couldn’t) buy one since a lot of the school year was already over. Anyway, perhaps you could look into getting her one. FULFILLED THROUGH MY STUDENT IN NEED!
03/31/201504/09/2015Student needs a bed. She currently sleeps on a blanket-made bed on the floor and needs a twin bed. Student also needs a dresser to keep her clothes in order. Her clothes are currently on the floor or hanging on wire hangers in a closet. Student thanks all donors in advance and appreciates all help.

03/06/201503/27/2015We have many 7th grade students in our school that use public transportation. Sometimes we need to help the families out. Many of these students come from single parent households and they are on a fixed income. Students stay after school to get academic help and need to ride the city bus home. One ride student passes and monthly passes would be greatly appreciated. If you can assist, you can make a donation to My Student in Need. Single ride tickets come in booklets of 25 for the price of $18.75 or student punch cards are $10 per card. 03/01/201503/09/2015My Student in Need - It is the middle of the school year and one of our 4th grade classrooms is in need of markers! Some students had them at the beginning of the year, and they dried up and/or have gone missing. We would like to request 10 packs of multi colored markers for student use. We also need thin tip black EXPO markers for use in daily instruction like math and reading. Many schools can ask parents in the middle of the year to replenish these types of supplies, but this class has a high number of low income students. 02/12/201503/09/2015My Student in Need - C.M. Russell High School has a number of students who have to ride public transportation to and from school. My Student in Need was able through the generosity of our donors to provide the high school with much needed passes in the fall of 2014. However, they have run out of ride tickets, so we are looking for donations to help us purchase more ride tickets for these students. In order to help as many students as possible we are seeking $150 which will allow us to purchase 8 Ride Booklets with 25 rides in each booklet.
