11/04/201411/07/2014My Student in Need - I have a 6th grade boy, age 11, in need of warm winter coat in men's size large. You can do so by either providing a new or gently worn coat in the needed size that is suitable for an 11yr old boy or you can pledge $40 and we will purchase a Gift card from Wal-Mart and the teacher will take the student shopping for the needed coat. 10/27/201411/07/2014My Student in Need - GREAT IDEA!!!! UPDATE SEE BELOW: Our second grade class is in need of books for our students to read at home. We are working very hard in school to improve our skills, but we have limited time during the day. Second grade is a critical time in building a love of reading. Our classroom is full of voracious readers who really need to have books to take home and even keep for their own if they love them. They would also be able to bring them back and trade them for different books if they want. One of our goals this year is to get in the habit of reading “between times.” This means that we need to have books available whenever we have a few minutes: riding in the car, waiting for scout meetings or sports practices to start, standing in line, waiting for dinner to be ready, or any other time we find ourselves bored. To reach this goal, we need access to books that we want to read. With a donation of $300, we could buy around 140 fiction and non-fiction books to help us become amazing readers by allowing and encouraging us to read at home. UPDATE: WE HAVE A PLEDGE OF $20! THANK YOU TO THE KIND DONOR! WE ARE SEEKING $280 TO COMPLETE THIS NEED. WE HAVE GENEROUS DONATIONS OF THE SHOES AND A WINTER COAT AND SWEATSHIRTS AND A $30 GIFT CARD TO TARGET. WE ARE SEEKING THE PANTS AND T-SHIRTS.
