10/24/201410/29/2014My Student in Need - We have a 11th grade, female student - age 17, here at CMR who uses a small travel suitcase with wheels to transport her school supplies from class to class due to her physical limitations. The suitcase has broken down due to excessive use and the wheels are not functioning. She is in need of a new small travel suitcase with wheels and a handle to pull it a.s.a.p., maybe green in color (school color) it would be greatly appreciated. He is in need of some bus passes. If you can help you will be asked to pledge $60 so My Student in Need can purchase enough rides to get him through December. A gift card for a shoe store would be appreciated to let her find the right fit. In order for us to provide her with the best comfort and proper fit - we are seeking a pledge of $40 so we may buy her a Scheel's Shoe Card. Scheels provides My Student in Need with a discount and will help her get the best show for the $40. 10/15/201410/21/2014Classroom in Need - I am a teacher and every year I do a Halloween bingo style game with my English students whereby they have to answer the riddle before marking their bingo board. It costs $60 to provide candy marking pieces (2-3 bags of M&Ms, 1-3 bags of Hot Tamales, etc.) and small Dixie bathroom cups for my 130 students. This is an opportunity for high school students to have some fun and be rewarded for much hard work prior and feel like a little kid again at Halloween. Your help would be greatly appreciated. 10/06/201410/20/2014My Student in Need - UPDATE: SEE BELOW I have a Second grade female student - age 7, who is a struggling reader and is in need of books at home to continue practicing her reading. She is very motivated and wants to read to her younger siblings, but has no "Good Fit" books. Therefore we are seeking a donation of $75.00 which would allow me (teacher) to order her a home library full of both fiction and non-fiction books at her reading level. This will also have the added benefit of giving her younger siblings a head-start on their reading careers. Book sets to be ordered include: Mo Willems Pigeon Pack; Elephant & Piggie Set Pete the Cat: Too Cool for School; Welcome to First Grade! Reader 8-Pack; I Can Read with Pete the Cat Pack; National Geographic Kids™ Phonics Box Set; Fly Guy Library and Natural Disaster Pack. 10/09/201410/20/2014My Student in Need - I have two brothers ages 15 and 17 who are in need of jeans--they both wear a size 32 x 32--one brother is a senior and one is a freshman. This need was brought to my attention by a counselor at a younger siblings school. The request was made by mom, through the counselor. It would be great to get each of the boys a few pairs of jeans. One of them is in the welding program, so carhart (or a knock off of that kind of jean would be good, but not necessary. New or gently worn is great! The 2nd grade girl needs pants size 10s, shirt size large 10-12, winter coat, hat, gloves. The 4th grade boy needs pants size 10R, shirt size large, needs dry erase markers winter coat, hat and gloves.
