12/02/201312/04/2013NORMALLY WE DO NOT POST THIS TYPE OF REQUEST HOWEVER WE HAVE CONFIRMED THE DETAILS WITH THE SCHOOL. My Student in Need - Fourth grade female student with vision disabilities. We are currently working with Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind. The recommendation is that we try and locate a used/working I-pad 2 to help her learn and read materials in the classroom. The I-Pad 2 would only be available for her to use while at Lincoln Elementary. Her teachers will secure the I-Pad 2 in the classroom. The I-Pad 2 will not go home with the student and it will be the property of Lincoln Elementary. It will be used exclusively by the student in need for the remainder of 4th grade, 5th, and 6th grade. The I-Pad 2 will allow the student to access information quicker and at a size that will be easier for her to read. The I-Pad 2 will allow her to be able to not stand out from her typically developing peers. Due to the types of applications and operational materials needed to help the student, it has to be an I-Pad 2. Therefore - I have a Sixth grade student in need of a new/used I-Pod Touch for purpose of communication. Speech is extremely impaired making communication very difficult with peers and teachers. The I-Pod Touch will be the property of the school but she will be able to use the I-Pod Touch at the school. Previous device no longer works and the family cannot afford this. 11/18/201311/29/2013My Student in Need - I have a 5 year old male student who is attending the GFPS Preschool program. He has a sister attending 1st grade at Mountain View. I recently went on a home visit and noticed that all 3 children share a bedroom. The 2 youngest are in toddler beds and the 1st grader has a twin bed. I would love to see the 2 younder students get a bunk bed (mattresses included) so that they have more room to be comfortable when they are sleeping and have more room to play while in the bedroom. They are currently on the free lunch program and mom is doing all she can but just can't afford to get new beds at this time. Thank you.
