11/25/201311/26/2013My Student in Need - A homeless sixth grade boy at Morningside needs bodywash for showering and a gift certificate to get a haircut. The gift certificate could be to any barber shop/salon like Cost Cutters, etc. The boy is eager to get a haircut in time for the school break, so this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Single mom is working to support 2 children, and Grandmother drives in from Fairfield to stay with boys during the week while Mom works. He likes Converse brand but would be happy with any black or white pair. Because tennis shoes vary in size and fit, we prefer to ask for help buying him a new pair rather than providing a gently worn pair. 11/14/201311/18/2013My Student in Need - I have a Ninth grade student who lives just inside the 2 mile cut off for bus services and is walking to and from school because there is not enough money to put gas in the car. A gas card would help the family get their high school students to school in the cold weather. To prevent any possible abuse of the gas card, My Student in Need would purchase five, $15 gas cards and distribute them one card per week. Each gas card will provide enough gas for a ride to and from school from their home. Based on the school calendar five gas cards would provide enough gas to get them through January. IF YOU CAN HELP YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PLEDGE $75 AND MY STUDENT IN NEED WILL GO BUY AND DELIVER THE GAS CARDS TO THE COUNSELOR FOR WEEKLY DISTRIBUTION. The ID # is: CMR #142. Thank you.
10/29/201311/18/2013My School In Need - The caring Valley View office staff would really appreciate new or gently used sweat pants in sizes 5 through 10 for boys and girls, for students that have accidents or spill food. Sometimes parents can't be reached or cannot leave work to provide clean clothes. New Panties/underwear and socks are needed as well.
