He cannot take the regular school bus because he lives outside the NMS bus boundaries. Mom has regular car trouble, so his attendance is impacted by transportation issues. 10/21/201310/31/2013MY Student in Need - I have an unusual need request. I have tried all other ideas and no success so I am asking for help through My Student in Need. I have a 7th grade male student who in need of a few cell phone minutes each month of the school year so the parent can communicate from home to school. There has been a history of little communication between the parent and the student due to the lack of any phone at home. A land-line will not work as the parent is rarely at home. My Student in Need normally is unable to post this type of request but after speaking with the school's representative and confirming the details we are able to make an exception. My Student in Need, using funds from the Trust Savings Account purchased two limited minutes phone cards for a grand total of $60 and delivered them to the school. Now we are seeking help to reimburse the Trust Savings Account so we can help another Student in Need. 10/22/201310/29/2013My Student in Need - NEW UPDATE SEE BELOW: Senior female student accidentally broke her glasses and they cannot be repaired. Her insurance only covers new glasses every two years, so she will be unable to replace them until this summer. She is a conscientious student who is working to support herself at a fast food restaurant but she cannot afford the sudden cost of new glasses. Obviously, glasses are important for her to be successful in school. My Student in Need is able to get her new glasses for $119. NEW UPDATE: We have two caring donors who have pledged a total of $75towards the glasses. Therefore we now need $69 so we can get this need fulfilled. 10/25/201310/29/2013My Student in Need - We have a 5th Grade male student - age 10 - is in need of pants that fit. A couple pairs of gently used or new would be wonderful. He should be wearing a size 12, but the ones that he wears to school are either to small or to big and he is constantly uncomfortable in class because of it. He has no preference on color or style jeans, pants and/or sweats would all be welcomed and very much appreciated.
